BasePlate

We deliver by delivering a BasePlate. A BasePlate is a platform to provide an operational foundation for a specific pattern of system design (for example, a micro-services based application) within your own cloud provider accounts. A BasePlate is built entirely as IaC and is subject to configuration control just like any other software.

When a BasePlate is called by a developer it creates the schedulers to run the number of application components specified by the application development team; the service mesh to enable secure communication between application components and the external world; and the secure repository for retaining API keys and other secure information. The platform supports a variety of deployment policies including (so called) Rolling, Blue-Green, Canary etc. Application observability is supported in accordance with CNCF’s OpenTelemetry framework. Prometheus and Grafana can be configured as part of the deployment.

Multiple BasePlates can be created to support Development, Testing and Production environments.
